this is the reason your computer knows what to do with it. the filesystem will always be the same in any camera. Yes you are - there's no reason to format your cards other than to make space. I don't see how he could have pictures from different cameras on the same card at the same time is what I'm saying. You have to format for each different camera and that clears any image files already on the card.

So have I but I downloaded any files first to my PC first. I too have used the same card in cameras from different brands without issues. How do you use he same card in several different cameras? Don't you have to re-format the card for use in each camera and thereby lose all the existing files on the card? I suspect this is a big part of why we don't have the mobile apps, because Fuji requires the disconnection and connection to Wifi ad-hoc access points and from what I understand from developers, the access to the system is atrocious.

The second reason is that Windows Metro apps do not give the same level of access to the system that iOS and Android apps get.

Originally, with ARM devices and Windows RT, they tried selling devices that could only run Windows app store apps ("Metro" apps). It is improving, but the majority of real apps are legacy apps, and Microsoft is leveraging that now when selling tablets (Intel Atom and i3/i5/i7). The reason for lack of app is most likely two-fold.

The auto-save PC app works just fine on intel Windows 8.1 tablets. I believe OP is complaining there isn't a windows metro app like for Android/iOS to transfer individual photos and take photos remotely. The app for OS X seems the same as the one for Windows, see here Fuji PC/Mac apps so there is nothing here to gain to solve the problem. Maybe the question is what PC/Windows computer today can you do a like comparison to a Apple iMac? Does $2000 buy more PC then what Apple offers?

I will always max out the GhZ first, then upgrade the video card then look at upping RAM. The iMac is fantastic and saves a lot of space depending what screen size you choose. I do not need a $5,000 Apple tower with separate monitor as I found out after switching from a PC where the only option was separate tower and monitor. SO far as price goes for a average of $2,000, and more like $1,500 you can get a iMac no problem same cost as a PC/Windows today. Is Dell still considered a go to for Windows users today? When I left to switch I was using a Dell. Since I do not follow Windows based computers what is the current "good brand" of Windows computer. For photography and video as a interest Mac's just seem to work better at these tasks.

I was actually at a point to upgrade my Windows computer so I was able to go either way for like moneyĪre you saying the Apple and the Windows based computers were the same price? That would be a first unless you were comparing a top of the line Windows computer to a bottom of the line Apple (Mac).Īnd the migration to Mac was very easy. After being a Windows only user for a long time I just got fed up with Windows and switched to mac and so glad I did for many reasons. If you have a need just switch to a different computer system. I have also friends who prefer OS X, so I believe it's very subjective thing. Lightroom+PS for photography and Sony Vegas Pro for video are just fine for me. Personally I prefer Windows and I have too many software licences bought and no reason to switch to OSX/iOS.

Dell XPS i7 16GB RAM/SSD+Windows runs flawlessly, no issues at all, but amazing is that recent Windows 8.1 tablets with only 1GB RAM runs very well too - much better than Androids in my opinion. Of course they are not for PS, but for simple mobile tasks. For photography and video as a interest Mac's just seem to work better at these tasks.Īt work as a web/app developer & graphic/dtp designer I use both Win/Mac and ios/win phone/android.

I was actually at a point to upgrade my Windows computer so I was able to go either way for like money and the migration to Mac was very easy. I have no direct need to shoot wirelessly, but I know Mac's are generally more friendly for photography and videography needs.
